lyrics
Signs I won’t forget these signs
I won’t forget my sorrow
That I feel right now
Signs they say it takes some time
Waiting on tomorrow
Realign
And cancel out
All this shit we talked about
As the words are falling out
And we drown
I’ve got this feeling
That I can’t let go
In the house way up on the hill
It’s full of broken bones
And I saw her from a distance
As she took my home
Well that's the way it goes I suppose
Restless nights
Turning on my bedside light
You made a mess of things
And everything denied
Playing on my mind
Because i was right
But did nothing at the time
Like a sacrifice was fine
I've got this secret
That I can't let go
We were hiding in these backstreets
With these plans of growing old
And I saw her from a distance
With a sign said sold
Well that's the way it goes
I suppose
Well that's the way it goes
I suppose
Well that's the way it goes
I suppose

I picked this one up in advance of a holiday trip. In these times I always need some softer music for my companion which rocks only a little. But "Ghosts on Tape" even rocks a bit more. The album has still edges and corners, it sounds modern and timeless the same time, it is varied, often catchy and dynamic. Even for me as a metalhead BLOOD RED SHOES is a band which transports enough energy and ideas with its electro indie rock to stay sustainably interesting. Check "Sucker". H.L.
