lyrics
Dressed in my best
Waiting for you
I washed my face
And laced my shoes
You’re someone
Id never assume
Yet I’m the one
Singing to your tune
Woke you up in the middle of this
Well I’m dying just to give you a kiss
I woke you up in the middle of this
Well I’m dying just to give you a kiss
I cut off all my old ties
Just so you’re clear in my sights
I can’t take my own best advice
Not when you’re here fixed in my mind
I woke you up in the middle of this
Well I’m dying just to give you a kiss
And I lie staring out at the night
With the sounds of the city I live
And you go too soon
With nothing to do
And I’m thinking, was it something I did ?
I woke you up in the middle of this
Well I’m dying
I woke you up in the middle of this
Well I’m Dying
And I lie staring out at the night
With the sounds of the city I live
And you go too soon
With nothing to do and I’m thinking
Was it something I did ?
I woke you up in the middle of this
Well I’m dying

I picked this one up in advance of a holiday trip. In these times I always need some softer music for my companion which rocks only a little. But "Ghosts on Tape" even rocks a bit more. The album has still edges and corners, it sounds modern and timeless the same time, it is varied, often catchy and dynamic. Even for me as a metalhead BLOOD RED SHOES is a band which transports enough energy and ideas with its electro indie rock to stay sustainably interesting. Check "Sucker". H.L.
